While my wife has been out of town, I decided to knock out some books that I’ve started, but yet to finish. I have a nasty habit of reading a small portion of a book, and then buying another one that looks exciting and doing the same thing. So, I’ve committed to stop buying books until I finish the ones I have. Some of these are re-reads and some are first-timers. Here’s the list of books I plan to tackle:
(I would normally feed the OCD side of me by alphabetizing the list, but I’m tired. So you get the “as I took them off the shelf” version).

The Rest of God by Mark Buchanan
Youth Ministry 3.0 by Mark Oestreicher
Speaking to Teenagers by Doug Fields

I just finished Radical last week and it has rocked my world this summer. We also got the mini-book “The Radical Question” for our mission trip team and have them reading it. I’ve read Forgotten God and while it didn’t blow me away as much as Crazy Love, it’s still excellent and thought-provoking. I’m (slowly) reading Doctrine right now, and gonna use it as an aid to help build a series in the spring for the youth on basics of the faith. I read The Christian Atheist not long ago and it is my favorite Groeschel book and very challenging. I read Miller’s latest not too long ago and while i didn’t like it as much as some of his, i liked it a lot too. Several of the others seem worth checking into eventually as well.:)

Sweet! If you run across any “can’t-miss-books,” let me know and I’ll add them to the queue!
